comment Is Windows IPsec really needed when using a 3-rd party Firewall?
@brahims Thank you. Of course, just the opposite: I meant "can't". I edited it.

comment Does it make sense having a separate DHCP server
There is not a huge overhead with querying your DNS server for a few client computers. I would just continue to let them get the DNS settings from the router' DHCP, and let them query the DNS server on the Internet directly.

I have had a number of processors that were high-end that ran so hot, the motherboards eventually failed.

I thought he meant ditching the one on the router and only having one on the server, and in that case, I was in favor of just the one: On the router.

Thank you. That makes sense to this non-Linux guy. Maybe one of these days I will learn more about it.

comment Setting the Server Port in D-Link Router for eMailing Logs
@Synetech inc. You are one of the more sophisticated users here, so I am not surprised that you would have your own internal SMTP mailer, but I could not be sure. Most people would be pounding their head against the wall with no solution in sight.

comment Windows: Automatically restart application when closes
Sid, as I said, the overhead is VERY minimal, and it is EASY to do. If you want to figure a way to code something to check to see if it is running, and then to re-start it, feel free, but I have been doing this for a long time with positive results. It is a common method used when you have applications, usually on a server, that stop running.
