comment Is it possible for Windows 7 to differentiate between files created by a process run by a user and files created by a user?
I am going to say that what you are asking is not possible unless you can run your process by a different user. Perhaps open the command prompt under a different user or Administrator so that when your files are created, the 'Modified By' will be different.

Have you audited what the 'Modified By' attribute is for files created by both processes you list above?

Funny...I honestly didn't consider Access but that is probably because I have been brainwashed to avoid it whenever possible. I think that I will create my project registry in Access.

comment How can I automatically convert PowerPoint to PDF?
It doesn't look like there is a native functionality to do this conversion via the command line but there are numerous 3rd party products which have this functionality.

What OS are you using? Any particular reason why you need to convert them using the command line?

comment Windows 7 decided on its own to run CHKDSK.
Via MSDN: > The specified file has an invalid security ID. Each file on an NTFS or > FAT volume has a security ID assigned it. The ID assigned to the data > file does not match the ID assigned to security data stream file > ($SDS). There is a mismatch in Ids. Chkdsk is replacing the invalid > security ID. No user action required.
