I like smart people who get things done. I do my best everyday to be one of them.
I code mostly in C++, Python, Java and... whatever comes my way. I also like to understand a problem down to its roots, a process also known as debugging.

Temporary disable function keys in Windows You could map those keys to a program that does nothing, like wscript //b. Might affect focus / active window though... |

ssh -X with cygwin on Windows: “Unable to access the X Display” Or maybe Server Fault ? Putty's support for SSH and X is pretty straingforward, check "enable X11 forwarding" in the SSH options. |

How are filenames stored? It is protocol dependent. Many protocols have a way to send the original file metadata, such as name and creation date. HTTP uses 'content-disposition' for this. Some protocols let the user select the final name, others don't, leaving you to change it after the file is transfered. If you have a question about a specific protocol, I suggest you make it a new question. +Keep in mind that there might not even be a file on the server, like a PDF of an invoice that is generated on the fly when you ask for it. |

How can I remove “Some settings are managed by your administrator” in Chrome? Noted the fact that I did not have access to HKLM\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome |

Upgrade to Windows 8 on encrypted drive fails and corrupted my TrueCrypt bios password It looks like that TrueCrypt bootloader is still there. Do you have a boot sector protection feature in your BIOS ? It might have prevented Windows 8 installer to overwrite it, leaving the old TrueCrypt there (hint: do you remember what happenned when you first installed TrueCrypt?) |

How can I remove “Some settings are managed by your administrator” in Chrome? Yes, and it leads me to something else. The key is there, but it looks like my account has been denied access to HKCU\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome (confirmed by AccessEnum). I'll post my findings here. |

Can TrueCrypt be cracked? A keylogger will hack truecrypt or anything else that requires a password. There are good minipci hardware keylogger for the pre-boot authentication crowd (I am one of them). |
