I'm the author of a natural language programming system called EngScript.

Some of my favorite software projects are:

I have written some useful macros in sweet.js:

//for repeating if statements
macro ifs{
    rule{
        {$($x {$y...}) ...}
    } => {

        $(if($x){
            $y...
        }) ...
    }
}

//a concise way to define several different functions
macro manyFuncs{
    rule{{$($x ($y...) {$z...}) ...}
    } => {
        $(function $x($y...){
            $z...
        }) ...
    }
}

ifs {
    a{
        b
    }
    c{
        d
    }
}

manyFuncs{
    fullName(firstName, lastName) {
        return firstName + lastName;
    }
    squared(a){
        return a*a;
    }
}

Right now, I'm searching for a parser that can handle ambiguous grammars.

In theory, it would also be possible to create a very concise programming language with implicitly defined parameters:

isDivisibleBy: (foo % bar) == 0
//This is a function with 2 parameters: foo and bar.

isEven: isDivisibleBy(foo, 2)

isOdd: !isEven(param1)

firstCharacter: theString[0]

lastCharacter: theString[theString.length - 1]

firstNCharacters: theString[0:end]

firstCharacterIsLastCharacter: firstCharacter(stringParameter) == lastCharacter(stringParameter)

printEach: for current in anArray{ print current }

http://rosettacode.org/ is one of the most comprehensive programming language references I've ever found.

Optionally-typed programming languages are really awesome: they combine the type safety of languages like Java with the conciseness of languages like Python.

Some cool things that I've made:

Someday, I hope it will be possible to create a programming language that mixes code from different languages into a single file, like this:

Python {
    def foo():
        return "foo"
}
Ruby {
    def bar
        return foo + " was called from Python."
    end
}

comment Is there a way (e.g. an extension) to avoid Google Chrome from saving a specific site to the History?
It might be possible to write a Chrome extension that would periodically remove web pages from specific domains. That would require some knowledge of Javascript, of course.

comment Filter specific websites from web history
@AlEverett Specifically, I'd like to "scrub particular web entries after the fact" using a Google Chrome extension. I could perhaps write such an extension myself, if no one has created it already. Then, of course, I'd need to know whether it's possible for Chrome extensions to access and modify web history.

@AlEverett Yes, but Incognito Mode doesn't automatically filter specific websites from a user's web history. That's the type of feature that I'm trying to find.

comment Use node.js as the default application for opening .js files
I'm referring to the list of applications under "other applications." Node.js doesn't even show up there, so I can't add it using the "add" button. How can I get Node.js to show up under "other applications", since I installed it from source?

What should I do if node.js is installed, but isn't showing up in the list of applications to choose from?

comment Which duplicate files and folders finders exist for Windows?
Actually, it does handle duplicate folders. This is the first program that I've found (so far) that can identify duplicate folders as well as duplicate files.

I meant "duplicate folders instead of duplicate files". Can AllDup find duplicate folders, as well as duplicate files?
