How can I merge the gnome clipboard and the X selection? Nope. For various other reasons, I've switched to KDE recently. klipper is acceptable for kde + synergy, but I know of no usable solution for gnome + synergy. Problems with autocutsel, parcellite and glipper are all laid out in existing answers and comments on this question. |

Why does less tail mode stop working? FYI, this remains unanswered because the file in question was not being rolled/rotated/recreated. |

How to store SSH keys? This only works if you have some other method of accessing the servers that that private key provides access to. You can upload the new public key only if you have that backup access. |

Access internal IP using public IP I have a very similar setup, except I'm using domain names. So from outside the network my domain resolves to my external IP, and from inside, it resolves to the internal IP. I have laptops and smartphones that frequently access from inside and outside, so hacking the hosts file wouldn't work. What I have done is basically what your (Pure.Krome) other answer suggests, only instead of using an external server I'm just telling the DHCP server on the router to prepend an internal DNS server. It mostly works, but there are annoying lags when switching networks before things start resolving. |

Considerations for keyboard with integrated mouse for HTPC dedicated to the TV? Why are you doing a lot of mouse work on an HTPC? Is everything browser based? |

What makes LastPass so secure? There are also android and windows mobile versions of KeePass, and probably others. |

Can I permanently prevent Java security updates from installing Yahoo Toolbar? I didn't vote, but this particular answer is recommending that you disable automatic updates for software that has had recent security vulnerabilities. That's a bad idea. It also doesn't answer the question. |
