comment How do I share files between MacbookPro over WAN to my PC over LAN?
Please stop using the words LAN and WAN and describe what you mean. Are you trying to do file sharing over the internet? I'm working off the picture you attached but maybe you are now saying sometimes the laptop moves offsite and tries to connect via the internet? Just use simple English and explain the use case.

+1, this is how we solved this problem in the field. You can then use a browser plugin to quickly switch proxies.

I think you will find its easier and safer to have Windows be the boot loader, that is how I have set it up in the past. Windows seems to like this way better.

Try yum provides "*/mod_perl.so" and make sure you have installed all perl modules. Does the mod_perl.so file exist?

comment how to add remotely controllable machine to home network, without sacrificing network security?
Basically you need to isolate the server within a DMZ. Questions like "without sacrificing security" and "allowing remote access" are incongrous - you will naturally sacrifice some security by allowing access. The idea behind security is to limit the damage and exposure to a breach.
