Check your BIOS. Most likely you have the pcie bus on auto or set to 8x. Sometimes the pcie slot you put it in can also operate at only 8x. Adding other cards can also make a pcie bus operate at only 8x.

comment How to set IIS online?
You may have your firewall blocking outside (outside of the local machine itself) connections to that machine. To test, disable the firewall to see of that works. If it does, reenable the firewall and adjust it to allow connection on port 80/allow iis service.

comment How do you view a printer's IP address on a school protected network?
The School's admins should be able to provide you with that information.

comment ISO file is not bootable to be used in a virtual machine
I'm thinking that it is either corrupted or not built correctly. Try to use the other software suggested in the other answers.

Doesn't matter too much since the rebuild time is the same regardless.

comment Dual boot Windows 8 x2 with truecrypt
If you're at the passphrase screen of TrueCrypt on boot, then you have already passed the boot selection menu and the default drive is being booted from.

comment Is it safe to turn off Windows Firewall on private network?
I would tend to disagree on the point that if I take my laptop to a friend's house and connect to their network, I do not know if their network and computers have the necessary security that meets my standards. If there is a virus on their network that can spread easily internally, I open myself for risk by not having a local software firewall running on my laptop.

comment Why ssh connection fails if `id_rsa.pub` file exists in local `.ssh` directory?
It looks like your host is trying to validate off of your public key which is fine. However, your public key does not authenticate successfully. Make sure that you've provided your public key to the host in the authorized_keys under the user account in which the key is meant to access.

comment How to stop syncing read status on Outlook (MAC)
Instead of using the Read flag since that is pretty much unavoidable, I would suggest using Categories. If someone else is working on an issue, change the category of the email to a different color. This way you won't have two people working on the same ticket. If you're a small office, look into making the category color for each person different. You should look into Open Source Support Ticket software or something like zendesk.

If this inbox is for something like support@example.com where multiple people will be checking the emails, you should really look into a helpdesk solution instead of inbox setup. While this does not directly answer your question, it may help open possibilities for best practices with a support environment. What is the email used for?
