comment How do web-servers “listen” to IP addresses, interrupt or polling?
@reirab: But can that kind of (weak) controller power a web server?

"reads the new data from the network card and stores it into memory. (This must be done quickly and is generally handled inside the interrupt handler.)" Isn't it done with direct memory access?

comment Connect to IPv6 network with a VPN not supporting IPv6
@MichaelHampton: In that case, they will just cut all your access to the VPN network. No security options can prevent that.

comment Connect to IPv6 network with a VPN not supporting IPv6
@ziesemer: I don't care about security because I use VPN just to breach Chinese Great Firewall. I checked "Send all traffic through VPN" in the settings (it's a Mac machine). I also manually add routing table for some local networks, and successfully bypass VPN in those cases. But the same thing cannot be done with IPv6.

comment How can I pipe console output directly to Notepad?
Notepad's functionality is so limited that you can barely do anything with it. Since you are familiar with vim, why not just install it?

I just need a confirmation that this is the common behavior of numerical analysis software.

comment Why does the expression exp(i*pi) return the wrong result in GNU Octave?
@Giacomo: I know that. I just wonder if all numeric analytic software evaluates to such number, or just GNU Octave.

Adobe Reader uses its own subpixel rendering technology---cooltype.
