@Col yeah the motherboard turns on with a different power supply of the same model. Is there anything I can do with the current one? Could the extension cable have fried it or would that have been a surge that fried it. The computer was on for like 5 minutes before just shutting off and not coming back on again

where did you hear about that design shortcoming? I didn't find anything from google, a lot of people are having problems with google drive not meeting their expectations, it clutters google results

the drive is being used for non-google-doc files only. they are not being updated reliably if they already exist

Hm, I have that adapter, but the thunderbolt port on my macbook air is smaller. What port is this? micro displayport??

having one computer on wired did help. My throughput averaged at 6 megabytes a second. which was very tolerable. The file transfer time went from a theoretical 7 hours to a theoretical 2 hours.

I haven't tried FTP or wired connection yet. I am a bit disappointed in the outcome of 802.11n, I will have to check again to see if I am using the 2.4ghz band or the 5ghz band
