How to force a file association in Windows 7? (Regedit?) For reference, my problem was with having 3 versions of MS Project installed. Not even uninstalling the old ones would let me associate the files to Project 2010. |

How to force a file association in Windows 7? (Regedit?) This worked for me even when all the built in Explorer methods failed. Thanks! |

What is the Windows hotkey to minimise a single, currently active, window? Doesn't work on any window that is maximised, or snapped to half a screen. |

Power on laptop without opening lid Some Dell laptops (like mine) specifically have the power button on the side. This is a good idea in the absence of other solutions. |

PuTTY pastes the terminal selection rather than the clipboard @Lèsemajesté: That's certainly possible, but I would rather use KiTTY with this xterm selection behaviour than PuTTY without it. |

PuTTY pastes the terminal selection rather than the clipboard sure, but then select paste and it will paste the selection rather than the clipboard contents. Check out the pic I posted. |

Turn off change file extension warning in Windows 7 @Synetech: oh yes, I understood that but I was wondering whether you had a github/codeplex/geocities page where I could take a look and fix my own explorer in the same way. |

Turn off change file extension warning in Windows 7 @Synetech: some more information about your "all-purpose Explorer hack" would be much appreciated. |

What is the ⎋ key? It's not just comparable to Escape, it is Escape. ⎋ is merely the symbol for Escape the same way ⇧ is the symbol for Shift. |

How can I good performance from an OSX install on a USB stick? Even a slow laptop drive like the one in your Mac mini is definitely faster than even a high-quality a USB flash drive. |

what is the hardware configuration required for the mac os 10.5.8 and mac os 10.6.2 @Kendall - all MacBooks can run 10.6, although they may not have originally shipped with enough RAM. 10.6 requires any Intel processor and 1GB RAM; and all Intel Macs can be upgraded to 2GB at least. |

what is the hardware configuration required for the mac os 10.5.8 and mac os 10.6.2 Leopard Assist is to help with installing 10.5 on older PPCs. There is no need for a tool to help install 10.6 on older Intels, because all Intel Macs are supported already. |
