That looks like a really useful tool that I have not come across before +1.

comment Windows7 folder sharing in a LAN enviroment
I am not 100% certain, but I am pretty confident that you could use a Windows 7 Home Premium client in that scenario. Probably best to wait and see if anyone with Home Premium has tried it. (I avoid the basic versions of windows like the plague)

comment distorted lines across entire screen, also on replaced lcd, but ext. monitor works, advice?
Just because the external monitor works fine, does not mean that the Graphics Card is not faulty. Graphics cards have 'heads' for each display output they support. Its possible one head can be faulty, and the other work fine.

comment Optimal config for VM host
Ye, we need to know more information than this to help you out... what Hypervisor are you using, KVM, Virtual Box, VMPlayer, Hyper-V? What disk set up are you using, split or single, thin or fat? What Host OS are you using and also what Guest OS? EDIT - Just noticed that the tag linux and the bit about deadline, I dont know much about linux VM's. Will leave for the *nix bods... :)

comment KVM recommendations
The majority of people who know about KVM's know about Remote Desktop protocols - this doesn't answer the question and in just an advert for TightVNC. Screen refresh rates via remote protocol are dependant on network speed and latency, most people do not want this inteferring with the user experience.

comment Disable creation of .AppleDouble files on Mac OS X
I've down voted this because I believe it contains some misinformation. Apparently no non HFS+ File-systems can store metadata? This is incorrect, NTFS does support file metadata, its just that Apple does not interact with it correctly and instead creates a basic file.

comment Can I configure and use 2 DHCP servers in my Home Lab Setup
Thanks for the link, but it doesn't really answer my question. After reading the post im not sure if what I want to do is possible or not. It talks about two different DHCP servers but they are both customizable (not a home hub).

comment BSOD, no new hardware or software changes, Win 7
Ye the one which we had an issue with was in a collegues laptop - he kept getting random BSODs and lock-ups. It happened for a few weeks then it died completley and was inaccessable.
