I am either a robot designed to fold paper or a robot made of folded paper. I forget which.

comment Monitoring text file and adding edit time on every line [Windows]
If you could use a .log file instead of a .txt file, I believe it would place timestamps at the start of each line automatically. Is that something it would allow you to do?

comment Finding the admin page for my router
To be clear, the router seems to be acting like a hub. Sometimes they are called Layer 1 Switches, but I find this misleading. A hub doesn't do any kind of traffic monitoring. It just repeats the signal it was given. I can't imagine why a router would do this since you almost have to manually reset it to get it to do anything else.

Could you post the results of the tracert? Any information is helpful. Also specify where the Comcast's IP is.

Your best bet is probably to find some way to set it back to factory defaults.

Try connecting ONLY to the Hawking box and rerunning the command.

If the nework is [Your Computer]->[Router]->[Comcast Box], use tracert [Comcast-IP] to see the hops to get to the Comcast box. The router IP should be in there.

You tried installing XP Home and it installed XP Pro? Are you using a Microsoft install disk or a 3rd party one?

comment How I change the default start path for cmd.exe in Windows 7 when opening from vim?
I deleted it because I answered the question I perceived and not the question that was asked. It seems like the answer still applies though. Sorry for the confusion.
