It did not work. He now just sees more regular files than he did before.

Thanks for the idea. I'm trying it out with someone now. I'm going to check in with them tomorrow after the indexing is complete to see how it turned out. When comparing my list of locations with theirs I see no significant difference. Neither of us have C: and the only other difference is that they have Offline Files and I don't. Still, if it works it's a more desirable solution than destroying the profile.

I must have not reset the profile correctly or mixed one memory with another because the only way we have been able to really solve this is to restart the profile. We have confirmed positive results with this method.

comment What are the differences in permissions between domain admin on member computer and local admin?
You're right in that the problem is not the filesystem but the registry. Thanks, though!

What you've said is what my understanding has been also. I'll look and see if any of my policies are in fact disabling UAC.

Then I apologize. I have rephrased my questions.

That's not what is at question. I believer you've misunderstood my original question.

comment Self-contained Flash Player 10.0 R2 fails on Server 2008 and 2008 R2
techie007 2nd comment: I don't believe this applies because it is a self-contained executable. The Flash Player that is installed, for use in the browsers, is at version 11. The executable is 10.0 R2.

comment Self-contained Flash Player 10.0 R2 fails on Server 2008 and 2008 R2
techie007 1st comment: Yes, because it acts a Remote Desktop Service server (formerly Terminal Services). As a result the users need the "full" web experience. However, in this case this is a self-contained Flash executable package that would normally run from a CD which, as a result, doesn't require Flash Player to be installed on the machine.

comment How do I change the From address in Outlook to a domain I own?
I'm trying to avoid having to add separate accounts. I've been experimenting with using Send As groups in Exchange as well as adding aliases to a user's email addresses. Although Send As groups seem to work they make the GAL ugly (hiding the groups from the GAL caused them to stop working).

comment How can I monitor changes in an NTFS filesystem?
That depends. Would a change like that be picked up by a volume snapshot on my EQL SAN? I would expect it to go unnoticed by the snapshot but that may not be true.

comment Tool to map network cabling between patch panels and switches
Do you have a suggestion on handling length? I suspect that with things mapped out in Excel the tech would be measuring and cutting each cable as he plugs them in rather than doing it ahead of time. I have a limited amount of time to redo my networking rack and I am hoping to visualize/plan the cable lengths ahead of time too. Thoughts?

I can't explain it. :( All signs point to this certificate not being in existence. I don't have an access gateway that would be hijacking the SSL session and all Exchange services are using real certificates. As well Outlook Anywhere (on both of my Exchange servers) is setup to use the correct FQDN for the server. I'm kind of at a loss at this point.

Thanks for your dedication to this. That looks like a great guide. I'll try to get through it today.

I added the screenshot in Edit 2 and no those dates don't sound familiar to me. I tried to figure out something that happened around that date but couldn't come up with anything.

I see what you're saying. There are two scenarios where I'm seeing it and I can reliably repeat one of them. I'm going to put them in my main post.
