comment Socket.IO & Millions of requests
You will need to know, not only the total number of requests per day, but how often a request comes from the same device and whether or not the server needs to push unsolicted data to the device in order to evaluate a tradeoff between webSocket/socket.io vs. ajax requests. Server sizing will need to know a lot about what work has to be done for each request too.

comment How to Sync Thunderbird Contacts with Gmail Contacts
This does not seem to work for me. I get an error: "LDAP Server Search Problem. Error code 0x80070057: Unknown error. Please contact your System Administrator."

comment When javascript is blocked on Opera browser, to allow comments in Youtube to be showed, what urls should be included in the exceptions?
You would have to study the resources that the page uses and find all relevant domains that it uses. With a quick glance, I see oauth.googleusercontent.com, pagead2.goodlesyndication.com, ssl.gstatic.com, tpc.googlesyndication.com, www.googletagservices.com, etc...

comment Error: Unterminated String Literal
My guess is that you have a firefox add-on that is causing a problem. I'd suggest disabling all your add-ons to see if the issue goes away. If so, you can narrow down which one is causing the issue. If not, then try another browser and see if you get the error there.

comment What is JavaScript Obfuscation and why is it a threat?
@Alexios - who said that AVG was objecting to minification - I rather doubt that because as you say, it would be objecting to most production web sites. It's probably objecting to one of the other forms of obscuration that is less likely to have a practical purpose and more likely to have a deceptive purpose.

comment What is JavaScript Obfuscation and why is it a threat?
@Chloe - a side effect of compression is some obfuscation (names are shortened to their shortest possible names, whitespace removed, etc...), but compression doesn't have a goal of making the code hard to read.

comment IE9 - Javascript suddenly went crazy
Try IE9 on another computer to isolate whether it's your specific computer or not.

comment IE9 - Javascript suddenly went crazy
I was asking for a link to the website you're developing or the relevant code from that site. If this is happening in multiple sites that used to work, then I'd suggest you check our own IE9 configuration. Make sure it's not set to IE7 compatibility mode or something like that. And, if nothing else works, try restarting your computer in case IE9 got somehow wedged.

I don't think folks can help (other than wild guesses) without either a link to the site or a copy of the relevant code that isn't working.
