comment Can anyone recommend a cheat sheet for the Windows Command Prompt?
I think it would be better to get used to typing 'command /?' instead, as that also works with non-default command line programs. 'command -h' is common with linux ported programs.

I've found the forum there also very good, for help on more complex commands and scripting.

comment How do I best scale a screenshot in Gimp to avoid a blurry effect?
jpeg is good for compressing images with graduated colour, like photographs. Compressing computer graphics and text with jpeg will lead to blurriness and artefacts, especially as you increase the compression level. .gif does a much better job, and with .png you can compress 'losslessly', with the image looking exactly the same as the uncompressed original.

comment Change pixel size of multiple images!
Change pixel size? Do you mean 'change resolution' (resize- change amount of pixels), or 'change dpi' (more accurately ppi)? You cannot change the pixel size, as a pixel is a pixel. You need to change monitors to change the size of a pixel.

Remember to never use jpeg for screenshots. Use .png, or at least .gif. Sorry for having to remind you, but many people do not realise this.

comment Does powerful Core i7 PC with a 800W PSU consume more power than a weaker one on a same task?
+1 for mentioning the efficiency rate bell curve. Using over-rated PSUs on systems that do not need such capacity will waste electricity. It is best to get a PSU that will allow the machine to idle at around 60% of its rating, for optimum efficiency.

comment Do I need a cross-over cable?
@Kent Boogart: There is nothing to risk. Even if it did not auto-sense (which it most probably will), all that would happen is that it would not work.

When you make a pure path, it does not actually exist within the image, unless you use it to make a selection, stroke it, etc.
