comment Why is straight-on viewing of inexpensive LCD screens no longer the best angle?
@RockPaperLizard That is the nature of cheap TN screens I'm afraid.. I'm using a TN screen on a ThinkPad T410 and it is much better than others I have used, with regard to viewing angles, but still not anything as good as my X220 or Dell Ultrasharp desktop monitors. TVs are always IPS, for the viewing angles.

Yes, LED backlighting has nothing to do with this issue. Look into TN LCD screen technology, which is cheap, versus something like IPS screens, which have much larger viewing angles. tnpanel.com/tn-vs-ips-va

Why do you 'need' to execute the .bat file from an FTP server?

comment Is 103424K an optimal SSD alignment and why?
@fixer1234 It's my understanding that the blocks of memory in SSDs are in 4096 byte units, so if they are not used fully, the SSD controller has to read or send chunks of data twice, to two blocks each time. I may be wrong though (not thought about this for years). I will look into it when I have a bit more time. I'm just about to go out.

Try google for 'EventID 109'. I'm going to bed for the time being.

comment Windows Live Email problems since installing windows 10
I doubt Windows Live Email will still work on Windows 10. It has been replaced by the metro/modern/universal/whatever app called 'Mail'. It's installed by default. Try using that instead.

comment Tmux ssh to current server
Why aren't you running tmux on the remote servers instead? What's the point of persistent sessions on a local laptop, as they will not be persistent. I connect to my personal server running tmux and have different windows and panes connected to other servers. Some of those servers that I do a lot of work on also run tmux, which I can nest from the tmux running on my personal server. You need a different command key combo for nested sessions of course.

comment Creating multiple screens in a for loop to run parellel programs and sending commands to each
@T.BrianJones No, as this is not something that I have attempted to do or want to do (I didn't make any question), but I am sure it will be much easier to achieve in tmux for the reasons I mentioned. Whenever I have a problem regarding tmux, I got to #tmux on Freenode and get it solved quickly, especially if 'nicm' (the main developer) is there.
