Mark this as an answer then, so that the question doesn't keep appearing on the front page.

@Eric I see. Have you tried disabling the Windows Firewall, to see if the problem is caused by it somehow?

You could use DirectAccess instead of a VPN, but have fun trying sorting that out, lol.

comment Is it possible to Wake-On-Lan without a router?
@DanielB: Yes, Automatic MDI/MDI-X Configuration is an optional feature in the 1000BASE-T standard and I've never seen it without.

If the laptop has an mSATA slot, you could easily add an mSATA SSD drive in addition to the HDD.

@user391559 The way you think worked for you before certainly did not work the way you describe. The only way for to select a different audio device is within the application itself. There are games and apps that allow this, but not all.

comment What does it mean when there are many POST requests to /wp-login.php in Apache logs?
@ceejayoz I'm not sure what you mean. As wp-login.php is not a static file, it will not be on the CDN anyway. I don't understand why these incoming connections seem to be coming from CloudFlare CDN servers. Perhaps CloudFlare also does server hosting?

Those IP addresses seem to be coming from CloudFlare CDN servers in San Francisco and Japan, which is a bit weird.

Yes, and that is needed to establish the connection before any data is sent or received, as explained here - inetdaemon.com/tutorials/internet/tcp/3-way_handshake.shtml

comment What is the edit command for 64-bit Windows 7?
@Alex Brief does not need installation. It's just a single .exe file that needs to be added to any directory in your %PATH%, and any user can edit their user %PATH%.

@JESii I meant that I find the Alt+Tab task switcher in Windows 7 to be more useful than the Win+Tab 3D task switcher.

I suppose you may have to use something like AutoIt or AutoHotkey scripting.
