fastmail.com seems to support Sieve out of the box, and has a very Gmail-esque interface. They're also an Australian company, despite servers being hosted in the US, hopefully means they're a bit more protected from NSA interception (but really, email isn't a good way to think you're secure)

Hrmm this is definitely what I'd like to be able to do, but I don't wish to run my own email server... if only I could use sieve scripts with Gmail or Office 365 and I'd have my solution! Do you know if you can wire up a sieve implementation with GMail's IMAP endpoint?

comment PuTTY + Ubuntu 12.10: why do I have no colors unless I use screen?
Actually this blog post summarises how you should configure PuTTY instead... using the terminal string of putty-256color would be a good start. The default of xterm is highly compatible, but pretty naff. blog.sanctum.geek.nz/putty-configuration

Any idea how you get PuTTY to act like a terminal client on Linux distributions so that it happens by default? I don't want to have to reconfigure my bash profile or force-colors on all Linux boxes I connect to

This is exactly what the OP is trying to avoid. @Techbrunch's answer is the correct one.

comment How do I change the Ctrl+0 zoom level in IE10?
Unfortunately it seems Windows 8.1 has broken this by trying to allow "cleverer" scaling across multiple monitors and seems to ignore that I've explicitly told it 100% scaling, with IE still showing default (ctrl+0) zoom level as 125%... :(

comment Cursor crawls by itself. What should I do?
Did you try using the PC for a while within Safe Mode to see if the issues were occurring there? Failing that, now might be a good time to upgrade to Windows 8? :)

comment How can I select which browser a link from miscellaneous applications open in each time?
I couldn't get it to work on Windows 7 x64... It would just give up a random error, or if I ran it as Administrator, nothing happened. :(
