Industrial Controls developer for a Materials Handling manufacturer and integrator. I use a little bit of all the MS technologies to develop solutions for our clients. In my spare time I work on cars.

If you downvote my questions would you mind leaving a comment to let me know what you thought was lacking from my question? I always try to provide as much issue context and source code to help others understand what i'm going through and your comments will help me get better at this.

Thanks and happy coding! Try not to be a Stack Exchange elitist. Belittlement is not considered helpful. Everyone's here to learn after all.

NTFS folder security permissions. The share is configured for both my domain groups to have read/write access. I then control further restrictions using NTFS permissions only.

When running ICACLS from commandline the entry is not visible there either.

comment Different windows explorer icon/grouping domain user vs local user
Joining the domain from home over vpn shouldn't have any effect here. I was snowed in and wanted to get it out of the way. Done it before on other win7 machines and they didn't have this issue with the user profile. I could treat this like a corrupt user profile and make myself a new one but I figured I could take an opportunity to learn and fix the actual issue instead of doing something as drastic as a new user profile.
