I'm an evil despot with plans to rule the world...

Well, OK, I lied.

I'm actually a Java programmer, although I also dabble in PHP, C#, and C++.

Likes:

  • C#
  • Java
  • PHP

Dislikes:

  • Maven
  • VB.NET
  • Maven (once wasn't enough)
  • JSP
  • Maven (twice wasn't enough)
  • WPF
  • LINQ

If I'm on SO, it's likely because I'm waiting for another Maven compile.

comment Why does Windows 7 need hardware virtualization to run XP mode?
It recommends a specific version of Microsoft Virtual PC because said version was supposed to be on Windows Update... so was XP Mode. However, seeing as both are still a Release Candidate, they haven't been pushed to Windows Update yet.

"RHEL5" is in the question title. That would be Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.

802.11n finally has a published standard as of this week, so perhaps we'll see more options in the near future.

comment What can be used to 'gzip' in Windows?
originally used WinRar, but switched to 7zip when I noticed it had shell integration as well. I also use a combinations of bash, nice, ls, xargs, and 7zip to uncompress bzip2 files and recompress them into 7z files on a linux web server (for Team Fortress 2 maps).

This is old now, but since it was just bumped... Dreamspark now has Server 2008.
