Thanks! Can you make some specific comments on my USB and internal adaptors? My laptop is Lenovo T400 with its own default internal adaptor, and my USB adaptor is "SUS PCE-N13 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 150/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit/128-bit WEP, TKIP, and AES WI-Fi alliance WPA, WPA2"

Thanks! (1) I was wondering why only one router is detected? (2) Do USB or internal make difference on speed?

Thanks! Restarting OS isn't tricking Ubuntu to think it works. It does work until I move my laptop.

Thanks, @DavidSchwartz! (1) "Why did you open your laptop a few months ago?" I have had the problem for more than a year. (2) I can't be sure if they are fully engaged. But why restarting OS will temporarily solve the problem? (3) Will a USB wireless adaptor (mentioned in my post) solve the problem?

comment What are the frequencies of current in computers' external peripheral cables and internal buses?
@RedGrittyBrick: Do you mean that although the computer is using DC directly from the power adapter on its power chord, some parts of the computer convert DC back to AC again, and the currents in Ethernet cables (and possibly in USB cables and internal buses) are not DC but AC?

Isn't the electricity already DC because the power adapter is AC->DC converter?
