comment Warning: Unbrewed dylibs were found in /usr/local/lib
@Anne, the commands brew doctor suggest will undo your change. If it's a change you want to keep, though, then you can commit it instead: git add /usr/local/Library/Homebrew/cmd/doctor.rb, then git commit -m 'Tell brew doctor to ignore libTrAPI.dylib'.

Be careful to look for white_list. If you accidentally omit the underscore and search for whitelist instead, you'll find something completely different.

comment Scan for a range of free Ports
This is not a programming task. This is a system-administration task. Just pick a range of ports and reserve them on your computer. Netstat will show you which ports are currently in use; just pick some that aren't.

comment Autorun.inf to disable autoplay
When you say "autoplay menu," are you talking about the dialog box that Windows displays, asking the user whether to open Explorer, import photos, or do other actions based on the contents of the drive? Or is there an actual menu you're referring to? And when you want to disable it, do you mean just for the USB drive in question, or for all subsequent drives anyone might later insert into that computer, even after your drive has been removed? Please edit to clarify.

This is not a programming question; I've voted to move it to Super User.

comment Outlook 2007 “Mark as Not Junk” Dialog Confusion
What are you talking about? There's only one check box in that dialog, "Always trust e-mail from ..." Un-checking that option makes the dialog do nothing, even though the text before the check box says the "message will be moved back into the Inbox Folder." There is no second check box, and even if there were, I wouldn't want to always trust anything based solely on the supposed source or destination.

How would your MacBook work? What's slow for some might be just fine for you. Try it and find out.

comment How to open Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs in the same tab
When you're at one Google site and you use the navigation bar at the top of the page to click another Google site, it opens in a new window or tab instead of opening in-place, the way ordinary links do. Coola evidently doesn't want to open a new tab. (I'm the same way; when I click a link, it's because I'm finished with the current page, so I have no need for the existing page to remain.)

comment What are the best options to use when compressing files using 7 Zip?
Apparently, no, the built-in Windows zip-folder feature doesn't do spanned zip files. That's too bad, since it's been a standard feature of the format since before Windows 3. I'd be very surprised if gzip couldn't do it, though. WinZip definitely can.
