comment apt-get doesn't register newly added repository
And also I noticed that perhaps the order of items in sources.list matters? Seems that if you add at the end it has priority over what is before it.

@Ramhound I know, I work in Non-profit sector as well. But one has really know when he crosses the borderline of pissing off users. See my update. FileZilla used to be good and without bs, this is sad, actually...

comment What does %Path% mean at the end of PATH?
Anthony, so my general conclusion is, that I can simply ignore the %Path% and add things behind it, right? (I am not really into debugging system scripts to fix it unless it actually causes any problem.)

@barlop, I edited it out because it was confusing people here! I wanted to respond to Anthony but I was interrupted and had to do something urgent in the office. Please remove the downvote.

Thanks Bohuslav. Your answer brought me to that idea! I was thinking that TotalCommander is completely buggy :)

Ahh, got it work, see my answer! Thank you very much though, this explicit action would be an interesting feature to use.

comment Directory synchronization: TotalCommander will not synchronize all files
But why? this is the point of synchronization, no? To update older files with newer version of them! So it shouldn't ask, and I think in the past, this problem was not present.

comment Notepad-like text editor with autosave
Thanks Rik. Do you have personal experience with the Notepad++'s autosave feature? I've been looking around and it seems there are lots of problems: stackoverflow.com/q/24471044 superuser.com/q/483218

comment Windows XP don't show login screen after opening laptop lid
@dx486 that would not help - the keyboard is working (the caps lock, num lock etc. change the leds). So, is it better to keep the lid open or close it? My intuition tells me that it is better to keep it open, sometimes the Dell didn't hybernate when it was closed.
