Thanks, romainl, there is no eval support! I'll have a talk with the server admin. Could you post your comment as an answer so that I could accept it? Thanks.

@Heptite: cpoptions=aABceFs. I'll google exactly what that means. Thanks.

Thanks. Even <C-r>=1+2<CR> doesn't work (it prints 1+2 to the file). Note that upon pressing <C-r> I do see the expected " character to let me know that I've pressed <C-r>, but upon pressing = it disappears and the following characters are printed to the file.

comment How to judge (but not test) which monitors are good for sub-pixel rendering when turned on side?
Yes, the setting exists. But monitor subpixels are not necessarily linearly spaced, and monitor engineers might not have taken into account that some viewing angles will be above the 'height' of the monitor (to the left if the monitor is rotated counterclockwise). There are other considerations as well, such as the fact that most LCD pixels are far from square.

comment How to change string literals in Eclipse (from a VIM user)
Switching? Apostasy! Merely summing up the 'competition'. All married men so occasionally! Thanks, Romani, your posts are always insightful and helpful. Have a peaceful weekend!

Thank you! I have tried all manners of VIM plugins but I think that I will be best off learning how Eclipse works, rather than trying to make Eclipse VIM. I think that you've worded my frustration perfectly with this: "Eclipse doesn't have the concept of text-objects".

comment VIM buffer for MySQL CLI interpreter?
I should note for future readers that this method is extremely limited. Only the last command can be edited, and the finished command is not shown in the MySQL CLI.

comment VIM buffer for MySQL CLI interpreter?
Thank you Romaini. I did search google, but I did not read the mysql manpage yet. I will go over that, and some other manpages that I have been meaning to review. Thank you!
