You are right. I've been spoiled by Google and instant-answers for the past few years.

Thanks Ingo. I happened to find it just a few minutes after asking right on the plugin's homepage!

Even if you beat me I'd still rather give the 'accepted answer' to you. Thanks!

comment VIM with Xdebug: Does the Help Window ever change?
Thanks, Stan. Vdebug looks to have some other nice features as well.

comment What happens when you connect two HDMI output devices
If it causes damage, then that is a fault of the hardware, or faulty hardware. Where did you see the "It broke" link? I'd like to read that.

Thanks, parkydr! That works! I have edited the post but had to put some filler at the bottom.

Perfect, romainl, thank you once again! Tell me, how might I have found COMMIT_EDITMSG for myself?

I actually mean the text of the comment itself. When I comment I'll open VIM and have a few line: Fixed foo(), Broke bar(). Each will appear on a separate line when I do git log but will be on the same line if I use the line that you mentioned.

I am actually having a hard time massaging this to properly display multi-line comments. Right now they all appear on the same line. Do you have any idea what might be causing the issue? Thank you!

comment Call function in .vimrc from abbreviation in .vim/after/ftplugin/php.vim
Actually, I had a whole mess of problems but I was able to use your working example and work backwards, Googling the error messages as I went. I actually started this quest two hours ago, seconds after you posted a working example! Thank you very, very much!

Thanks Romainl, in fact I did not abuse an s:! I did try with and without g: prefixes but that did not help.

Thank you. I have started with a blank .vimrc and ftplugin file, and added your text and only set nocompatible and filetype plugin on to .vimrc. When opening somefile.php and typing the text xyz, I get the message E121: Undefined variable: Hello. This is VIM 7.3 on Kubuntu 12.10.

comment How to secure a Windows ME system connected to the internet?
Yes, you could isolate the machine from the Internet but allow access to the LAN. Your router might be able to do that, but don't bank on your other LAN machines not infecting it, or one of the games. In fact, I would bet on that happening. Yes, malware is still a threat from other machines on the LAN. You might want to look into Dosbox or wine to run the games.

comment How can I make a Windows PC bullet-proof for home users?
Like Aki said, get her off the vulnerable OS. Ubuntu will let her use Open Office, Firefox, and a myriad of media players.

Thank you. However, this removes the highlight on the commit line! Where is this documented, so that I might adjust it as I see fit?
