comment Why do SSDs have weird sizes?
@ZanLynx: Also for SSDs using tri-level cells, presumably the native size is a multiple of three even before (over-)provisioning.

comment Copy disc image to USB device under Windows
"Burn" was definitely the wrong word to use, since most of these answers address burning a CD. Luckily @Gilles knew what you meant :-)

comment Is Eclipse supposed to segfault continuously?
@greg-449: Thanks. If you would make that link an answer (and quote some of the text to make it meaningful stand-alone), I will accept it.

comment Is Eclipse supposed to segfault continuously?
@Ramhound: And I answered your question, even though I do not see how a plug-in that was never installed could cause the problem.

comment Is Eclipse supposed to segfault continuously?
@Ramhound: It's a commercial plugin (IBM Rational Team Concert), but that is not relevant to my question... As I said, this "continuous segfault" behavior happens on a freshly-installed Eclipse with no plugins whatsoever (well, except for the integrated CDT). My "steps to reproduce" are complete; let me know if they are not.

comment Does SpeedStep change the bus speed, or just the multiplier?
"Processor frequency" is a little vague. There are several clocks flying around inside the processor, the most important being the "Front Side Bus" and the "core". Thank you for your reply, but I already read the Wiki page and I do not believe it answers my question.

comment Preventing a linux process being swapped out
@Luke404: Linux caches disk pages in RAM (quite aggressively, actually). So it is simply not true that "the same page is no more in memory" when the VM "swaps" it to "disk".
