comment Is there a way to get my browser to remember field values based on HTML field-ID?
That doesn't seem to be the case (in general). I do remember seeing something like what your suggesting in certain cases but you dont get a dropdown until you start typing. I'd like a immediate dropdown to appear. My guess is that something like this doesn't exist.

comment Do I need a Gigabit router with a 24Mbps down and 7Mbps upload speed cable modem?
Ok, so it sounds like I need a gigabit wireless router only if I want computers internally to my network to be able to transfer between each other via hard wire link into the nic ports on the device.

comment Where do I find XP drivers for my 3 year old laptop?
I like this suggestion. Linux may not be as good as vista but it can definitely finally compete with XP.

comment Broadcast Ubuntu network connection over WiFi from Ethernet
sounds like it should be possible. sometimes people call it a "ad-hoc" network.

comment VMWare vs VirtualBox …what I should use
One difference I have noticed: VMWare has software side handling of multiple CPU's and so if your Intel CPU doesn't have the support for it, VMWare will still allow you to select multiple cpu's for your VM.

comment A program to analyze startup times
I saw a tool on TV the other day that did the same thing as Bootvis but was MUCH MORE descriptive, down to details of each service and what ORDER they start. I wish i could remember the name of it.
