you can sorta do it on XP. Internet Exploder v.8 (I think) has a Map Network Drive button on it and in there you can choose "XP: Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server” and then you can assign a custom network location. Its just harder to find on XP, but its there.

yes, it will add a second item to your bootloader when you turn on your computer. ( if you see an error, just wait 30 seconds and it will boot up.)

I use Windows7 all the time. I login to it remotely from an XP SP3 machine and I have NEVER had the problem you describe. You dont need to worry about "console" session.

great link to article. thanks! also, after accepting the RDP FIPS certificate, you can see the certificate by running mmc.exe and then adding the "Certificates" snap-in (to see machine-wide cert store).
