I have been a computer service technician and technology consultant for more than 10 years.

My background is in aviation, technology and business management. Blending these fields has been interesting as well as educational. Troubleshooting is a specialty; I love to make things work when everyone else says it can't be done.

I have a degree in biblical studies.

This sounds like a corporate computer. In that case, this is off topic. I'd suggest talking to your IT department.

comment Excel Formula to match dates
@Prasanna Understood. Please be careful how things are worded. "Closing" a question is very different than "accepting" a question on Super User. Closing is an action taken on questions which do not meet the criteria of this site, while accepting is to choose the answer that best helps you.

@Prasanna It is not your position to instruct when an answer should be accepted. The OP will decide if the answer is the solution best for them.

comment Headphones not working?
Is it the headphones or the device they are connected to? To find out, connect them to another device or try a different pair.

comment What is iLivid?
What research have you done on your own? In its current state, your question is off topic because it is a software recommendation and is hypothetical.

Are these documents on a network, contain external links or built on a template which is no longer available? What happens when just opening Word (not an existing document)? Does it work then?

comment Why does my screen not turn on?
This is difficult to understand. I tried to edit to make more sense of it, but it needs more details. Please edit this question to clarify what you are asking and with more details about the OS you are using and the graphics card you are using.

comment Search a list of files
Welcome to Super User. It may be beneficial for you to read How to Ask to better understand how this site works. Software recommendations are off-topic. This site is really to help you with what you've already tried and have gotten stuck in the process. It is not for us to do it for you. Lastly, your question "copy the search results of all the files in the list to another folder" doesn't make sense. Do you mean copy to another Excel file?

comment Excel function with the same name as cell reference
I'm curious how the developer of an Excel Add-in would not have the issue in the first place. Have you checked with the developer? Are your versions compatible? I noticed this note on their website: "Isoplot 3 is not compatible with either Excel 2007 or Excel 2010. If you must use Excel 2007 or Excel 2010, request a copy Isoplot 4, which is compatible with Excel 2007/2010 only. Isoplot 4 has no more functionality than Isoplot 3.7, and somewhat less flexibility. Expect a speed penalty of up to a factor of 10 when using Excel 2007/2010."

You want the formula to always refer to ='OME6500 Commissioning '!C2 no matter how many columns you insert. Is that what you are saying?

comment Reclaiming an infected pen drive
Not necessarily true. If it's connected to a government network it would likely have some protection. You're probably OK to plug in your drive, don't open any files, then scan it with Avast. Or just format it if you're that paranoid about it. Besides, if your Avast is up to date, it should protect you.

Do you know for a fact the "unsafe" computer you used was infected?
