okay but why do I get ftp prompt when I do ftp localhost because I am not running ftp server on my machine

and how do I know if I am connected to the server ? As I enter ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx , I see a ftp prompt but I am not sure if I am connected because as I enter the command LIST, it says invalid command.I must mention that I didn't enter any username or passoword to connect to that ip

I don't get the third point "If you want to use 64-bit guest support on a 32-bit host operating system, you must also select a 64-bit operating system for the particular VM". you must also select a 64-bit operating system for the particular VM what do you mean by that ?

you know when I click the windows option on the boot screen of ubuntu,I don't directly boot into windows but again see the booting options namely windows and fedora. Earlier I used EasyBCD to dual boot windows and fedora before installing the third OS that was Ubuntu. So If I see the option of fedora on clicking the option of windows on the boot screen of ubuntu what does it tell !! ? Does it mean that bootloader of fedora is installed along side windows ?

The grub for fedora is installed in sda9 and boot loader for windows is installed in sda1 (if I am right) . ? So this command basically installs grub of fedora into MBR ?

okay. I understand /dev/sda1,/dev/sda2...etc but what does /dev/sda/ mean ? When I will run grub-install /dev/sda,where will the grub be installed and what exactly am I doing ? Please help me understand this
