comment How to deactivate the embedded email system in Windows 8.1
I used word "embedded" in a sense of "Build-in". I am using Windows 8.1 Pro.

Which application is it? For me it's Windows Embedded Email Client. I doubt it can be uninstalled without any hacks.

comment On windows, how to force application close upon going to sleep
Well, I don't need to trigger sleep automatically. I need to "subscribe" to sleep event and be able to run the command then.

comment How to have an application closed on lid close in OS X
@DartAndroid, the situation is that I am not sure who will be around the laptop when I wakes up from sleep. What if it's the people who will be willing to find something that is really on a remote RDP-access machine. With RDP dropped on lid action, I am sure in such case people won't even know I was using RDP at first glance. I know this may sound strange, but that is a real world scenario I need to be prepared for.

It was a fresh install, not an upgrade.

comment Installing Windows 8 from a Hard Drive forces it to be a dependend drive to load Windows
My 320gig drive is exactly that. And what it did was install MBR onto itself, and now I can't boot without it.

That is the thing - I don't have a DVD-drive, that's why I wanted to do it all with HD. I will wait a day, maybe someone will post a hint on a DVD-free solution. If not, I will mark that one as an answer.

comment How to forbid RDP login when user is already logged on to the system
Well, yes, that's the problem. We are using a built-in RDP client(and it is a server as well). Perhaps we can install additional terminal service to get the required functionality? We don't need concurrent connections, we just need to forbid another login when one is already connected.

comment How to get photos out of a windows phone 7 device as a Mac user?
First of all - WP Connector should work fine on Lion. If it doesn't, contact MS support, they should help for free in this case. Meanwhile, most logical would be to upload photos to a SkydDrive, and then download them as one archive. This solves the problem of downloading it one by one. Then you just wait for WP Connector to get update, which is most likely to solve the problem with iTunes transfer. Unfortunately on Windows you also just need to have Zune running to copy pictures. Not other obvious way, and I doubt there will be any in a near future.

comment Microsoft BlueTrack technology on cotton surfaces
Yes, and the fact that the red-laser mouse works perfect makes it logical to suspect either the technology or the particular unit. The cotton bedsheet is yellow and red colors though. BlueTrack my be losing the "ground count" at color changes I assume.

comment Skype: how to make notifications bigger
It is possible with custom programming. But I doubt there is such an application, since the market for it would hardly be found. There may be some generic applications, but they wouldn't know how to hook up to a Skype event.

comment What's the difference between “shutting down the computer” vs “shutting down the hard disk”?
Yes, and the moment the OS will require something from the drive it is most likely to fail. Wiping is only possible theoretically though, since most OS's (there are basically two of a kind) will be constantly spinning the system drive. My Windows 7 machine though seems stop even the system drive sometimes, but I may be wrong.
