comment Windows 8.1 request to “Enter your most recent password”… Legitimate?
Think for a minute. A Microsoft account can also technically be an Outlook.com email account. If you login into the website and never log back out, after a while, when you come back to the site, it will promote you to re-enter your password, just to verify that you are still who the site thinks you are. More than likely that's just the state you have landed in with your Windows 8 machine, just a simple MS account re-verification. Must admit, the wording is odd, but the request is probably legit.

comment How to install IIS World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC)?
Or you could optionally use the Web Platform installer to turn on and setup the generally used defaults for IIS.

@Peter Mortensen, not surprising after almost 3 years. I've updated with the link with the most current download.

comment What does the new inspect element bring to Firefox that Firebug does not have?
I've used firefox for years, and for some reason was always under the impression that the only way to have a web development tool was to use firebug. Now since firefox has gotten onto their 'rapid release' schedule, I"ve just now noticed that they've integrated 'web developer' into their menu items and have included this suite of tools. So by habit it's always been firebug, and for me, the built in tool is new.

While I admit, that is a pretty awesome feature, how would you actually use it for anything web development wise?

comment Can't install MS VS 2008 on a computer with MS VS 2010 installed
Good luck, and remember to clean up the registry. That will have a lot to do with further success with this.

To be honest, if you are the only user of the solution, I would just go ahead and upgrade the solution and keep using 2010 as the editor. If you need to have compatibility for others, you can also have two solutions in the project, one for 2008 and one for 2010. Uninstalling and re-installing does take too much time for not much return.
