comment What crashed Automake?
@StevenLiekens I got lucky - was searching with the error message, specifically around struct flock and stumbled upon vasilis' solution at bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=65423 . I'm hoping the PHP devs will either add libtool as dep when opcache's enabled, or give a more useful autoconf / make error message. I've also submitted a similar patch for github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-php PHP >5.5 and hope it gets accepted

Note that beginning with Wireshark 1.10.0 QT is used instead of GTK. So you can use the option --with-qt

comment OS X Safari prompt before exiting
@Scott Thank you for your quick follow up and detailed reply. I manage to solve it by remapping the Quit keyboard shortcut. Google Chrome handles the Quit issue better by having a "Warn before quitting" option. I commented for the benefit of anyone looking at this question in the future.

@LoveRight Didn't get any bounty, but I am glad that there is closure for this question. The biggest satisfaction I experience is from successfully helping another person to solve their problem; upvotes, accepted answers and bounties are bonuses :)

comment Updating PHP dlls on Windows automatically
Sorry, can't help you there. There are no PHP auto updaters. The only software that gets updated automatically are Windows components managed by Windows Update, or other applications with it's own auto-updater (Java runtime environment, Adobe Reader, Google updater, etc)

comment Is there a chrome extension which gives you a hotkey for clicking on the first result of a google search?
Once you have enabled Google Instant keyboard shortcuts support.google.com/websearch/bin/… , use the Down key. If Down does not work, try hitting Tab first, followed by Down

comment Why does Google Chrome ignore “last_known_google_url” property in “Local State” file?
You can change the default search through address bar by customizing the search engine: Go to Options > Basic > Default Search > Manage.. Click on the default search engine and change the URL to google.com/?hl=en

comment Chrome start page: no “Most Visited” nor “Apps”, just “Blank” wanted
@Robottinosino my answer does not include any patching of source files. Simply install a Chrome extension. Another alternative is to install a few Chrome web apps / extensions and use it a few times. Whenever you open a new tab, Chrome will now default to the Apps page instead of the Most Visited page.

comment pdf - Get current page number in Google Chrome
Report the issue by opening a PDF file, then click on Chrome -> Tools -> report an issue (or go to chrome://feedback/?session_id=1&tab_index=1&description=&categoryTag=) and explain your problem. More reports will result in Google taking this problem seriously.
