comment How is free space reclaimed when files are deleted in Windows?
You need to specify EXACTLY how you determine both the size of the files you deleted, and the alleged free space. The pronouncements of Windows Explorer, for instance, are notoriously unreliable, as it frequently double counts linked files. Certain NTFS filesystem features will naturally result in fewer bytes being "freed" than were contained in a deleted file. For a reliable reckoning of filesystem freespace, use something that consults the NTFS Allocated Cluster $Bitmap metafile.

comment Do symbolic links work both directions?
Please explain your question. A symbolic link to a target directory is not itself a directory, and therefore has no contents. It is just a pointer to another location. It makes no sense to speak of a file being "pushed" into a symbolic link.

comment No final new line in notepad++ documents
What "blank line" are you referring to? My Notepad++ has no such thing. And just how is Notepad++ supposed to determine when the line is ended, unless you tap that return key?

comment how to merge unallocated space to drive c?
@Synetech: At least since Windows Vista, the Disk Manager utility can and will extend or shrink the system/boot partition. No doubt the option is not appearing for the Question Asker because there is not in fact contiguous unallocated space at the end of the C drive.

comment How do I stop google redirecting search to https?
It's been in the news lately that Google is implementing major revisions to its search algorithms. I, too, have noticed a major slowdown in Google search response. This has nothing whatever to do with https.

comment how do i report malware or spyware from a random person that was sent to my gmail account
An email containing a link to a website allegedly delivering malware is not "spam", and answers concerning spam are not appropriate.

There is no UAC in Windows XP, so it's irrelevant.

comment Editing and Viewing Registry Keys from Powershell
You confuse the term "key" with the value(s) and their associated data contained in the key. In powershell, the values are considered to be "properties" of the key. Subkeys of the key are "childitems". Keys are containers, values are not.

Not true: reparse points are easily detectable by any program.

comment How to delete the bootloader
Totally unclear what your goal is, which is probably NOT to delete any bootloaders, since then one or more of your OS's will be unbootable. If you just want to omit the second display (from Windows Boot Manager), just use EasyBCD to edit the Windows BCD entries. EasyBCD does NOT create or delete bootloaders, it edits the Windows Boot Manager configuration file.
