Been on the Internet since before there was an Internet. Remember UUCP, news feeds, and Gopher?

comment Turn on/off HTML markup while coding?
Looking for code writer with an ESP module combined with a DWIMNWIS logic system. It's the 64 billion dollar tech answer computer AI scientists have been looking for, for several decades. GLIYFI...

comment Why is it bad for me if my computer is infected, if I don't notice?
Heh, all you have to be is single, a man and over 40 for child porn distribution charges to stick. Somebody hacks your system, uses it to distribute some pretty awful stuff and you are too tech ignorant to defend yourself when SWAT hits the door with the requisite warrant. Better have a really good lawyer on retainer.

They wants Word For Websites. If Dreamweaver doesn't do it then NSL.

comment Is it too late to get the last updates for XP?
If it works out anything like past versions of Windows, the update system works until access mechanisms (winhttp, BITS) get updated out of existence, root certificates expire or Microsoft quits supporting ancient web browser access on the update servers. The updates aren't suddenly taken down, access to them expires by slow attrition and lack of support. Final support ends up being the Microsoft Download Center until they eventually disappear from there as well. As pointed out, you just don't get new ones as the rtf of misery, jpeg of death and gaping port chasm get reinvented.

comment I want to build my first computer but don't have the time. Where could I learn about the different components and how they work?
tomshardware.com is the goto site for these kinds of questions. It's all about building stuff.

comment How to make services.msc not to ask for admin rights?
Yeah, all this security stuff kind of gets annoying after while, except when you run without it and find out the consequences. I have this one backup program that pulls up a UAC for admin access even when you're only backing up user folders and have full permissions as that limited user. Groan!

Reworded the answer and added a link to advice on changing the snapin without messing with file permissions on the original system file.

Did you read the last two lines and try running SFC? The administrator is not supposed to mess with a lot of system files, only the installer service can properly work with them to maintain proper DACL ACL rights.

Heh, so you changed ACL permissions on it somehow. Find a like file and try to recreate the permissions on it if you can.

comment Wake on WAN wont work but Wake on LAN does
Recheck on that please, one of the methods is a directed IP WOL packet. One of the methods direct from Intel is Wake on Directed Packet - accepts only patterns containing the adapter's Ethernet address in the Ethernet header or containing the IP address, assigned to the adapter, in the IP header.
