comment Where is the System Restore on Windows Server 2012?
System Restore is a user friendly workstation replication of what backing up System State with Windows System Backup does. You may not want to "create a backup" but that is what you need to do on Windows Server OS. The alternative is to get an aftermarket backup software package, which often is quite expensive.

comment Windows 7 backup to 3TB Seagate external drive got 0x8078002A error
Yep, drives are shipping with 4k physical sectors and logical 4k format. If it isn't reformatted to 4k physical/512e (emulation), you cannot use it with Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 backup. They create vhd files and those require that the drive appear to have 512 byte sectors (emulation). I had to reformat from 4k logical to 512e on a Western Digital drive a couple months ago, as noted, Western Digital has a format program to do that.

@Steve - you find out what drive is used in the enclosure (Seagate, Western Digital, etc. not sure what Touro is) and check the manufacturer specs to see if it supports 512e. If it does, then find their format program.

comment Why are there so many files in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
ESET does a MITM to decrypt SSL traffic so it can scan the contents. It therefore must generate a fake key for each SSL website you visit so your browser doesn't complain the connection has been compromised. Almost year old question brings into mind the current Lenovo-Superfish-Kommodia debacle where the private key to generate all those faked keys is easy to crack and the error checking is so ludicrous that its key regen will force a self-signed cert to be fully trusted if the cert is generated just right.

comment What is the difference between BIOS and firmware?
@safx - Well, some memory cards and USB sticks have a write only switch, so is the contents stored on them while the switch is set to ro, firmware? Man, this is getting philosophical (^_^).
