SSD drives have built in logic... - That is also my understanding. And I think USB flash drives lack that.

Though I will note that my question is not exactly the same. The drive will be powered up, just that data not copied around unless I do it because it's not an SSD, just a USB flash drive. Though that seems to bring it to be the same as your question, there is still the difference of powering up which might help. | |
