Recently I made a simple game using Unity 3d and found that it works on every windows machine, just copying the files and executables.
I was wondering how it can be done, because I read that you can't make a compiled program portable. Because of system architecture, windows version... You need to compile for every machine.
Also I was wondering if there is something like this for Linux machines.
And if someone can explain me what is happening when installing a game ( what is the program doing, if there is some compilation or only copying files, set paths and checking for dependencies)
