I shrinked 50GB from my main bootcamp NTFS partition. After a reboot my windows explorer now shows that drive C's total size is 90GB, but the Disk Management tool in windows (and EaseUS Partition Manager) still shows 140GB (there is no unnalocated space).

How do I get my 50GB back?

Disk 0 should be 500GB:

If I try to shrink another 100MB (maybe force a reload?) I get the following message:

The parameter is incorrect.

Partition 4 is mounted as C: but ony 90GB:

TotalCommander also shows a total of 90GB.

I've used chkdsk and EaseUS's error check with no luck.

    In the Diskpart utility, "Disk 0" SHOULD be 465 GB, not 500 GB.

  • Maybe you should look in the Windows Native tool to view partitions instead of using Easus? Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management Check the state of Disk 0 (and maybe post a printscreen), do you find the 50 GB in a "wierd partition" maybe?

You can fix this within diskpart like this:

list volume
select volume #
extend filesystem

"#" stands of course for the affected volmue seen in the volume list.

  • Windows 10 22H2. My SSD drive C was reporting 90GB capacity, but in DM C:\ was a 500GB SSD. No other volumes shown allocating this space. These steps solved it for me.
