When i run command like iostat -dkx 2 2 via ssh, I get the expected result, but the processes on the local computer are saying alive in status "interruptible sleep". Why is this happening? Is there a way to find out the reason of that behavior?

full command:

$ ssh -o ConnectTimeout=4 -o ChallengeResponseAuthentication=no -o PasswordAuthentication=no <user>@host> iostat -dkx 2 2

ps output:

$ ps aux | grep 11893 && ps aux | grep PID
USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND

$ strace -p 11893

    I would attach the strace or gdb to the server process.

    @Shukov: I am unable to reproduce the error, you will have to provide some extra details, like: unusual configurations in ssh_config on client or sshd_config on server? Tiurin. Feb 19, 2016 at 11:42
  • There were minor changes in the initial configuration related to configuring authentication. Such as PermitRootLogin or PasswordAuthentication. Feb 23, 2016 at 20:53
