Windows 8.1 isn't recognising my DVD drive. I have searched related questions on this website and none of them help. When a DVD is inserted, the light on the DVD light flashes and I have reinstalled my DVD driver in device manager.

  • Is it shown in Device Manager (under DVD/CD-ROM drives)? Does Device Manager show any Unknown Devices or devices with an error? – Steven Apr 3 '17 at 19:29
