I use SSH-based tools on Windows, which use configuration files in %HOME%\.ssh\.

Is it possible to make WinSCP use that configuration file too, so I only have to manage one configuration?

It's redundant to have to keep two configurations for the same servers.

  • What other ssh tools are you using? Do they have compatible configuration styles with WinSCP? Is there an scp tool from your other tool suite that would "just work"? – Eric Renouf Aug 17 '17 at 19:12
  • @EricRenouf: It's just standard ssh and scp and whatnot from MSYS2's... they're in standard OpenSSH format. – Mehrdad Aug 17 '17 at 19:17
  • What "configuration" do you mean specifically? – Martin Prikryl Aug 18 '17 at 5:33

    @MartinPrikryl OpenSSH configuration in ~/.ssh/config – Jakuje Aug 18 '17 at 8:50
  • @Jakuje I assume you mean ssh_config. But there's also known_hosts for example. And even ssh_config is quite broad - I wonder what OP does manage there. – Martin Prikryl Aug 18 '17 at 9:16
