When I create a folder, I am able to search the files in the folder using the search box of Windows Explorer.

After I share the folder, attempting to search the files in the folder comes up with no files found.

This is the process I execute to repeat the problem.

Create a folder named "test search". Put a file in it called "test01.txt". Enter "t" in the Explorer search box. The file "test01.txt" is found. Right click on folder. Choose properties. Choose share tab. Click on share. Click on share. Go to folder "test search". Enter "t" in the Explorer search box. No files are found.

What is your question? Some possibilities: "why does this happen?", "how to make search work?", "is it a feature or a bug?", "is Vista affected?", "does Microsoft know?" We don't want to guess your question. – Kamil Maciorowski Sep 14 '17 at 17:38

  • Try to enable view hidden system files in explorer. – Biswapriyo Sep 14 '17 at 18:18
