Have you tried printing to file or pdf then sending those files to the printer? – Solar Mike Oct 6 '17 at 21:09
  • yes, excel still crashes when trying to print to pdf or file – ross Oct 6 '17 at 22:10
  • So Excel crashes whenever you print, no matter what printer you send to? Please edit your question to make this more clear. Also, have you checked the Event Viewer for error messages from the crash? – music2myear Oct 6 '17 at 22:18
  • Excel gives no error message, it just says "Excel is shutting down" when trying to print on SHARP MX-753N. It is a copier/printer connected to a network. The copier prints other documents fine, onlly having trouble with excel. – ross Oct 6 '17 at 22:26
  • Yes, but you stated that Excel crashed when printing PDFs as well, which means the issue is not limited to printing to the Sharp printer. Even if Excel shuts down you may still see relevant logs in the Event Viewer, and reading these may give a strong indication of the source of the problem. – music2myear Oct 6 '17 at 23:08
