I've added the following line in my LocalSettings.php:
wfLoadExtension( 'WikiEditor' );
$wgHiddenPrefs[] = 'usebetatoolbar';
And yet, when I try to edit a page, I get an ugly editor like:

$wgDefaultUserOptions['showtoolbar'] = true;
$wgDefaultUserOptions['usebetatoolbar'] = 1;
