I have a dead early 2013 15" MacBook Pro. However, the SSD I believe is fine, so I'd like to get the data off of it. I'm absolutely useless with backups (soon to change after this much needed kick up the backside).

I'm garnering mixed information online, and would like to just be certain, and hear from an experienced individual.

I'm looking at this OWC Envoy Pro USB 3.0 and from what I can gather, it looks like I can get this and insert the SSD from my MacBook into this caddy, and then plug the caddy into another Mac and transfer my files across.

Is that going to work in my case?

Edit: Anybody know if this is going to work for me? Just need someone who knows their hardware in this area to tell me whether I am right before I commit to the purchase.
