Imagine I have an untrusted software which Do Not Want to access any directory except the one I specify (Restrict software access to an specific directory)

Is there a way other than (Virtual machine & Sandbox ) to do this ?

  • You could run the software as a standard user and delete the user account afterward. – dsstorefile1 Apr 15 '18 at 9:02
  • Windows 10 has a feature that might do what you want, but you have eliminated, the best options to do what you want. Either way software recommendations are out of scope – Ramhound Apr 15 '18 at 18:40
  • @dsstorefile but software can still access my files and folders on drives and etc – Mahdi Rafatjah Apr 16 '18 at 10:34
  • @Ramhound I'm not looking after a software to do this. I want to know that if there is a way to do so and whats that called. – Mahdi Rafatjah Apr 16 '18 at 10:34

@Mahdi Rafatjah No, there isn't. If the OS is vulnerable, you'll need a syscall filter of some sort, whether that comes in the form of virtualization or sandboxing. – dsstorefile1 Apr 17 '18 at 17:04
