I asked a question a few weeks ago about my frequent restarts, and believed that I had fixed the problem. Unfortunately, I may not have fixed it quickly enough, and I think my motherboard is damaged enough that it's causing computer instability, such as continuing random restarts and sometimes refusing to turn on. Here are some pictures of the issues.

Marks around BIOS

Marks around CPU

Does this mean that my motherboard is fried?

Looks like uncleaned flux to me. – Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams May 6 '18 at 4:48
  • @IgnacioVazquez-Abrams Could it be causing any problems? How do I clean it off? – SoulweaverBalinia May 6 '18 at 4:50
  • Flux is meant to be chip cleaner, so if there's any issues, it may be something else. its also acidic IIRC so...Its slightly plausible. Anyway, this is not a user level fix, and without knowing the symptoms - we don't know the former. As for the latter... you'd risk damaging the system doing that and its best left to skilled professionals. – Journeyman Geek May 6 '18 at 5:08
  • Thanks. I will look into getting a new battery and see if that fixes the problem. – SoulweaverBalinia May 6 '18 at 5:13
