I want to install/enable the telnet client on my Windows 10 PC.  I am an administrator on my PC and have tried various things but I still can't find it.

C:\WINDOWS\system32> dism /online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:TelnetClient
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.16299.15
Image Version: 10.0.16299.309
Error: 14098
The component store has been corrupted.
The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log
C:\WINDOWS\system32>

P.S I don't know a lot about PCs so please help.

  • So, what does the log file say?  Please do not respond in comments; edit your question to make it clearer and more complete. – Scott May 15 '18 at 3:00
  • Have you tried 'dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth' ? – pun May 15 '18 at 3:50
  • "The component store has been corrupted." run the DISM command that "pun" provided – magicandre1981 May 15 '18 at 14:44
