Using gnome-boxes on Fedora 26. One of the VMs (running Ubuntu 16) stopped working. In the process of trying to remove it (via the gnome-boxes GUI), suddenly gnome-boxes stopped working. It would open and then immediately close again. Error message was (gnome-boxes:<#>): Libvirt.GObject-CRITICAL **: gvir_storage_vol_get_info: assertion 'GVIR_IS_STORAGE_VOL(vol)' failed. After deleting various config files and folders to no avail, deleted ~/.cache/libvert folder. Now gnome-boxes starts again. But it is unable to create new VMs.

In the command prompt:

$ gnome-boxes
Error setting up default broker: Failed to set autostart flag on storage pool: internal error: pool has no config file

$ sudo service libvirtd restart
shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory

job-working-directory: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory
chdir: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl restart libvirtd.service
